A comparison of solid stanchion pegs and stanchion bases with holes

Some boats are equipped with solid stanchion pegs instead of stanchion bases with holes. Our outlaying frames have connection tubes designed for stanchion bases with holes. If you have found an outlaying frame cover that suits your boat but need connection tubes for pegs, please give us a call or send us an email, and we will customize your order.

The main above clearly demonstrates the difference between the two types of stanchion bases. On the left, you can see the solid pegs, and on the right, the bases with holes.

Peg v.s hole

A visual inspection alone makes it difficult to distinguish between our connecting tubes for the two different types of stanchion bases, as the dimensional differences are very small. Both tube types have the same length and are fitted with identical plastic fork end fittings. The difference lies in the inner diameter and hole diameter. The tube for bases with holes has an inner diameter of 25 mm and a hole with a diameter of 21 mm. The tube for solid pegs has a larger inner diameter of 28 mm and a hole with a diameter of 23.3 mm.

Summary
